The Victorian Occupy London

Our colleague Dr. Peter Yeandle has just published a piece in the Journal of Victorian Culture online on the Victorian precedent of occupying the steps and square outside St. Paul’s Cathedral. The article, What Would Jesus do? The “Occupation” of St. Paul’s Cathedral, February 1887 is free to view and explores the connections between religion and social protest in the Victorian context, as well as the response by media and authorities, offering food for thought on recent protests as well.
