Congratulations are in order to several members of the Manchester History community!

Jack Burke (BA History) was the student winner of the University’s Social Responsibility and Volunteer of the Year award in recognition of his work as project manager of Student Action’s weekly soup kitchen.

An congratulations too to the team behind the excellent student magazine, The Manchester Historian, which came second in the prestigious PriceWaterhouseCoopers Student Teamwork Award for 2012.

Hannah Barker, Professor of British History was given 2nd place in the staff category of the 2012 University Social Responsibility Awards, in recognition of her work as chair of the Manchester Histories Festival.
